Seven Days and Counting

July 8, 2008

Well, we’re now seven days from next week’s Conference, and there’s still so much that I have to do!  I’ve finished my presentation for the opening of Day Two, but am still working on my pre-conference workshop presentation.  But more importantly, I’m still gathering my thoughts on those issues, concerns, questions, and experiences that will help you get the most value out of the conference.  I want to make sure that when you’ve left DC next week, that the conference met or exceeded all your expectations, and that you’ve made some valuable connections that will help you get the most out of social media in your organizations.

So, you’ve got a week left – what are those things that you want to make sure that I or another one of our speakers covers?  Based on my experience, here are some of the most popular topics that have come up –

  • Measuring social media (ROI)
  • What other government agencies are using social media, and how are they using it?
  • Gaining leadership buy-in
  • Addressing the risks of social media (or better yet, the risks of NOT using social media)
  • How to integrate social media into existing strategies/plans
  • Baby steps for introducing social media
  • How to use social media “on the cheap”
  • Bringing the IT/Legal departments into the fold

Let me know if there are specific issues/comments that you have by leaving a comment to this post so that I know how to address these issues over the three days we have together next week.  If you’re not sure, just leave me a comment below and introduce yourself – would love to have a chance to sit down and talk with you while we’re there.
